CASE STUDY: TELUS
National telecommunications company optimizes employee recruitment process, collecting real-time data, enabling immediate follow up
Situation
TELUS is a leading telecommunications company, with $10B in revenue and over 11 million wireless, wireline and internet customers. The Talent Attraction & Acquisition division of the TELUS Human Resources department was seeking a unique and powerful candidate experience that would enable their team of recruiters to take centre stage at any event, attracting ideal candidates to them. forward.
Solution
TELUS selected In-Touch's data capture solutions to compile candidate feedback on their recruitment experiences at corporate trade events.
The objective of each event was for TELUS to attract and engage candidates with the use of individual kiosks where participants could engage in a TELUS experience in a self service capacity and also interact with a Recruiter or Talent Attraction representative. The purpose was:
To encourage interaction onsite with the TELUS brand, imparting the belief that TELUS is an exceptional place to work
- To capture sufficient information regarding interested candidates to enable personalized follow up campaigns about specific job openings or areas of growth in the company
- To drive candidates to the TELUS website to conduct research and apply online
Previously, event staff had used a paper-based solution to gather information about candidates. This method was low tech and non-interactive, with too much downtime between data capture and follow up.
Results
TELUS commissioned In-Touch to replace a paper-based process with In-Touch interactive kiosks and mobile tablets. To attract talent, a custom survey was developed to capture the candidate experience data in real-time. Kiosk users completed the TELUS branded quiz, which made for an enjoyable experience, and captured valuable information for post-event follow up.
TELUS was able to offer a variety of quizzes, depending on the type of event or audience, as TELUS seeks candidates on-campus, at career fairs, information sessions or sporting, community and marketing events.
Using the In-Touch web-based reporting tool, data was compiled in near real-time, with candidates being segmented by area of interest. Human resources were then able to contact the interested candidates to continue the recruiting process.
Overall, the TELUS brand was enhanced with the latest technology, an interactive experience and benefitted from improved candidate data. Results were instantly available, with no downtime post-event. Highlights included:
